Here is today's tip for networking: watch your feet!
The main thing when you're face-to-face with someone is that they should feel like they matter to you - even if it's only for a few moments in time. Don't worry - you can always move on, but while you are speaking with an individual, make sure that your feet are facing that person.
Making sure that your feet face the person to whom you are speaking is one subtle sign that tells others we are fully engaged in the current conversation.
Don't be "that guy" who spends his time looking over your shoulder, scanning the room to see if someone more important has walked in. If you're going to bother speaking with someone at all, then fully engage (feet included).
